Can any whippet guys tell me which size of wire racing muzzles i would need for my jack russells. I want to buy ten for my racing demos but need the proper wire ones and must have the correct size for the dogs. Also, any ideas on the best place to get them from, Cheers in advance, Delboy.

I use size 4 for my small Whippet... Size 5 for my Lurcher Guess you might want a size 3?

mesure the tip of nose over there eyes to back of head ,,,,example 10inch - size 7,,,,9,1/2 inch size 6,,,,i think a size 4 would be 8 1/2 inch and so on,,,,,like post said above size 3 might do iam sure u used to get size 2 & 1,,,,but there very hard to come by now as there,s not many 14lb whippets running anymore

 

if failing to find a size ,,thats fitts ,,some people use those basket muzzels from pet store,,not as good but they do the job

give me till after the weekend,,,,ill ask member,s at club that run 16lber,s to see what they are using

 

 

there,s people on k9 that go to alison armstrong and rob,,which people go for muzzels,,,,not sure but i think my sister had use a size 4 for her 16lber but her dog does,nt try to get it off,,,,but some terrier,s i guess will go nuts and try and get it off at lure lol

 

little tipp for u if u do manage to get them,,the wire that go,es over the top to base off head ,2/3inch from base off head bend it a just alittle ,,it helps lock in behind base of head better,,,makes it harder for them to get it off

they use a size 2 for 16lb whippet,,,,,they get it off rob67 of k9,,,and i alison armstrong does those sizes too i think, that makes them 7 1/2 inch ,,,would that size do an advrege terrier ????

 

if so ,,,,i can see for u ,,as i think they will be at scottish derby 10 day event in 2weeks at kirkcaldy,,,i think my brother is ordering some stuff off one of them to bring up to him,,,if so how many and will u show for them ???,,,i can get him to order size 3 or 2 for u depending on ur terriers size,,,i think jans store show,s in more detail how to mesure a dog up for a muzzel

Thanks again for your help. I have called the number on the site below so hopefully they will call me tomorrow. If not i will contact you to see if you can help. I start my demos at the end of this month so would like them for this if possible. I would send you cash beforehand if required.
