ive never had or seen a dog that will do all 5 single handed,

but the ones my dad had and the ones his friends had always seemed to be deerhound x's and collie's. that was even when the bull crosses came in. however he did have a few very good bull crosses and one was an alrounder. this was early 80's though

So its rabbits hares foxes deer in my opinion any dog that knows its job will do it.If its game enough and taught correct cants see any problem.I prefer and 3/4 1/4 bred dog light fast agile etc perfect for all the above quarry.half crosses etc are a touch heavey but you may find a few that are good enough for more than there specific jobs!

you would never get the ultimate all rounder.....but you might get a dog that does well in your chosen sport and also trys hard at other game. For example my saluki x, is a good all rounder....but not 100% perfect. pre ban he can take 3 n 4 hares a day, takes deer well and i took him foxing and ferreting.......but even though he tries 100%, i would be a fool to say he catchs as many rabbits as some wippet X's do and the same with specialists bred fox dogs. On the other hand my mates dog catchs fox after fox, and retrieves rabbits live to hand. But even though his dog has had many hares he would never dream of matching it against my dog, especially where 100 yard plus slips are the norm....You see, a lot of good dogs will catch all quary but it would be imposible to be 100% in all fields. As long as they give us some good sport though thats all that matters. ;)
