Whats so great about airguns?

I was just wondering what is so great about airguns? They seem to be fairly popular over in the UK from what i have heard.

I go along with all of that, my main one is a .22 and runs at 26ft lb so it's a bit of a cheat compared to many and it doesn't come out too often, only as work dictates.

 

Just started doing bunny work at a cemetery and MUST be air rifle, so many pictures, urns, flowers, lights, etc ..and of course plenty of Headstones.

 

Anyway, I'm knocking down the bunnies commonly at 40-50 yards with head shots and watching the acrobatics as they leap 2 feet in the air and do a double back summersault...(Work with a mate there who runs a 12ft lb.177 AA and he can handle to good distance as well!) yep, they can be very effective, and frankly very rewarding, when you know you need to rely of fiedlcraft and skill rather than just brute power!!

500 pellets in one little pocket...springers are 'free' to 'charge' pcps cheaper than shells or bullets. but what ever airgun its 'sniper' grade shots in a very short range, so skill at its best without letting huge lumps of lead with shit loads of noise that'll kill in a neighbouring town... so relativly safe (if your carfull)..

close range the bullets wont take your head off or chunnel holes through bricks etc .... farely versatile on small rodents (so not a proper human threat, barring dill wits and tit heads)...

 

cost wise..hmmmm theyre exspencive for what they are, but some are a peice of engineering, a feet on its own lol.

i allways loved airgun hunting because its, imho, one of the most challenging sports their are becuase if youve managed to get the stalk up to your quarry, ge that right shot and do it safetly, all within a maximum range of 50 yards, you have deserved that kill and it makes it alot more enjoyable, and dont get me wrong every single country sport has its area of speciality wether it be high flyers on shoots or culling deer.

also its betterwhen you have footpaths all over the shocking place!

i like my air rifle but iv not ad chance to use it yet its gutting as iv no permmissons yet im asking about with no luck i just carnt wayt to get out and shoot me sum ferret food

I mainly hunt rabbits all year around, so the airgunn is the best tool for the job for me, plus have you ever shot paper targets with a shot gun and tried for a tight group Center fires are overkill on some of my permission, and dangerous for most of it being flat, so for me its, airguns, ferrets, dogs, traps, and not in that order.

airguns have the advantage of being quiet and with a good sound moderator nearly a whisper. they dont go into bricks or (as previously mentioned!) headstones! you need to be skillfull to use them and of course, no licsnece needed!

i use 1 round the pheasant pens as its so quiet and stick a nightvision kit on 1 and you got a hell of a rat killing kit and there really good if your shooting close to a road (on private land).

a keeper mate of mine has just brought an AAS410 and he cant believe how useful airguns are.

silent, cheap and no licences required! and you can shoot in buildings etc without risking puttin holes in everythin!

that may be the case but over here as long as the gun is shooting at less than 12ft/lb then you dont need one
