Is there a discharge? , could be where a ticks been knocked or pulled off and left the head behind.

Is it a hole with raised edged, wet looking, smelly discharge? still think its an abcess.

 

Think you need to whip it to the vets asap or you will get fly strike.

 

Bathe the wound. Use a teaspoon of salt to a pint of warm water and just lightly dab the wound.

 

Salted water is a good disinfectant.

I would take the ferret to the vets, it looks like a puncture wound to me, is the ferret in with others that could have bitten it,
