Sako Quad or CZ 453

Recommended Posts

Can anyone please help me in my decision.

Im looking at either a Sako Quad varmint with a synthetic stock or a CZ 453 Varmint both 17hmr.

Ive heard that the CZ synthetic stock is a little flimsy and they dont do a 10 shot mag .

Any advice would really help !

Is there anything you dont like about the CZ ?

CZ is the donkeys and no advantage I can see in the SAKO, just costs more!!! And agreed, nothing flimsy about the CZ synthetic stock, its a lot more solid than the Sako in my view.....and why a 453???? Whats wrong with a 452...are you desperate for a set trigger???

Ive read that most people upgrade the trigger unit on the 424 and the 453 is suposedly better .

Wrong choice ?

As far as I am aware the trigger on the 453 is completely different to the 452 and is a SET trigger, the rest of the gun is identical. If you want a set trigger then fine! Upgrade on a 452 trigger will cost between about £8-£13 depending on exchange rates and where you buy it from!! (mine cost £8.32p TOTAL including carriage, as a direct import from Eric B about 10 months ago, but exchange rates have changed!!)

I haven't upgraded mine...Its never been a stumbling block in my opinion. My gets used almost daily..

But I would never say never...

It doesn't make it a bad rifle...

And as Deker says....it costs pennies to sort if the triger is not to your liking.

Set trigger for a .22????? I shoot too quickly to think about it.

Nah..not for me.
