Just from watching dvds and looking at pictures the land looks bigger and not alot of cover and ditchs...Their looks to be more quarry in places but over is it the same or what the differents...correct me if i`m wrong.. :thumbs:

2 or 3 acre fields in my area are common.... :doh:

 

 

 

 

 

the ground i hunt on it takes a good sprinter to catch... i had a couple of deerhound crosses and although i really liked them but they didnt do well on the ground i worked because it took too long to get into top gear..

Yea,best field i have is 9 acers.

The rest are 3 and 4 acres,would love a lurcher but you couldnt exspectt any dog to

deal with that small space.

Or could you???

 

 

Whippets you cannot beat them up2 100yrds and they turn really well!!

Even area's in ireland are different, a bloke from the midlands(Longford i think,not sure) came over to get a trial of a dog my da was selling and said the land around Wicklow was to hilly to lamp and dogs would have to be exceptional to succeed and the fields were too small, i dont know as i've never worked my dogs outside Wicklow, suppose you have to put up with the terain available to you.

The Cork County Open lads pre-ban used to visit our club in Yorkshire to run against us interclub, we were out one day we had three drives into one field one of the Cork lads asked the landowner how big the field was? the landowner thought and answered 78acres, the Cork lad said "feck me that would be a farm back home"
