Guest dances
and if your alaunts arent fast enough for roe, to heavy for hares. what are they good for? Quote Link to post
Pops 19
i will have to grant you the nod on the chinese history as i am fairly ignorant of the far east. i dispute that there was widespread commercial exchange of dogs before they colleseum consumed them in the thousands. it is well recorded history that rulers sent gifts of all sorts of domestic animals to each other in the course of diplomatic missions. the most ferocious & unmanageable as a subtle warning or the best handling top hunting as a true gift to develop good relations. in some rare cases conquerors even demanded them as tribute. but widespread high volume commercial exchange started when the roman killing machine needed them. one of the strongest checks against foreign influence is the simple fact people use what they are most familiar w/ rather than learning how to handle something new. thats why most colonial era domestic animals in the USA came from britain, ireland & the german countries, it's where the colonist came from & who they most traded with. just look how localized the terrier & herding dog of britain were prior to the industrial revolution. so i'm not buying the archeology arguement. academics love to pronounce widespread facts based on single incidents.
