Hi every one

took the AAS410K .22 out friday

I went to my nearest permission on {Friday} and when I got there, there was a contractor cutting the grass, so I decided to go across the road where I have a verbal permission and to see what was about.

 

After getting set up and cut away at some branches which obstructed my view, to give my self a clear shot of what was going to present it’s self. I noticed one cow was watching my movements and was curious of what was moving so it decided to investigate, and then the others followed. And this went on four 45 minutes before I lost in the battle of stare’s “n†sniff’s so I moved away and had a mooch. i was watching this hedge line

As I started to move I clocked a bunnie behind me, as I was covered by some pallets so on the pallet I lent and THWACK over it went the first of the session in the bag. Just as I was going to pick it up a pigeon landed about 25yds away,

So I decided to take it home with me as well {WELL IT WOULD BE RUDE NOT TO}

 

 

 

 

So of I went to have a mooch and clocked a couple of kit’s out about 30yds away so had a couple of shots and missed { fecking .22}so had a quick zeroing session and back to it and of I went , and seen some more out about 80yds so had a long stalk on. The stalk was going really well the bunnie was still out in the field about 5yds from the hedge line, so just another 10yds then I was in range. Then it clocked me !! So down slowly on one knee as it stopped just by the hedge, and I thought I have you now up came the AAS410 .22 {YES! I KNOW!!!} To shoulder cross hairs locked on and PHHSSSS!!!

No pellet’s left,†don’t you just hate!! that when it happens†so slowly put me rifle down it was still out, put my hand in my pocket to get the other mag and it wasn’t in that pocket so I checked my other pocket wasn’t there either so !! I had lost it don’t know how but I had, so I had to back step my tracks to try and find it.

 

So back I went having to leave a perfectly delivered stalk and quarry, as im going back looking on the floor all the time I got back to where I first sat down and cut all the foliage away, had a good look there was so many place’s that I could of fell . But just as I was moving all the nettles n stuff there it was half lodged on a rock, another 30mm and I would never had found it, and £ 30.00 out of pocket. By this time the cattle were down in the corner of the field and I could get to the place I was intending on going to as the light was fading fast.

 

I got to my sniping point and got me lamp all set up and sat and waited, it wasn’t long before the first lamping session was on the way THWACK 35yds then another half hour THWACK another in the bag then not much more happened after that so I decided to go to the hotel just down the road and see what was going on down there, as I spoke to the maintenance man and asked if he would cut the grass as it was too long for me to shoot them humanely. As I pulled up there was five on the grass he had previously cut, so a quick word with the night manager to let him know I was on the property. And back to the car locked loaded and 2 within the first 10 minutes. Then had a drive round to the front of the hotel and spotted a few more out and about and had another three but could only find one of them before I had to go and pick the miss’s up from a work do and decided to call it a night

nice way to spend a friday, and nice to see a decent post about what we like to do !!!!!!

 

hows the rabbit numbers down your way???...........its been quiet up here, but there seems to be alot more young un's about now, so another month or so might get some action myself.

Nice one Davy had the same problem on Sunday with the "beef"...seen my landowner to fill out my FAC forms & he says"get yaself into small field,it's lifting "...sure it was,bagged 2 before the calves f ed it up for me
