skycat 6,173
YOU HAVE TO TREAT THE ENVIRONMENT!!! Whole kennels, cracks betweeen planks, both sides of beds. (Mattresses are a nightmare as there is plenty of room inside the mattress for the larvae to develop without being touched by surface spraying) In a house: TREAT THE WHOLE HOUSE: underneath surfaces of ALL unpholstered furniture, cracks behind skirting boards, between floor boards: in fact anywhere where the vaccuum can't reach. No point doing just the dogs when the fleas' eggs and larvae are in the environment. Once there is a build up it can take a while to get on top of them: I haven't treated my dogs in over 5 years but I treat the kennels and house twice a year without fail: that way even if the dogs bring a flea in from elsewhere, the moment it drops off a dog to lay its eggs, then the cycle is halted. billy the kid 1984 1
Can anyone help me, i have a problem involving fleas. My girlfriends dog has them and no matter what i do i cant get rid of them. I have tried flea shampoos, powders, and even collars. the only thing that worked was the collar which was effective for about a week, then low and behold they returned. I dont really want the expense of vet bills so if anyone knows of the 'magic cure' please let me know. The dog is a five year old black labrador bitch.Regards, Sam go with advocat mate its the best thing in my opinion Quote Link to post
