Wild_and_Irish 11
It doesn't matter about the breeding, there's good and bad in all x's, as long as it's obedient has good temprament and gets the job done Quote Link to post
dogs-n-natives 1,182
I think that if the dog (when entered) is working its intended game to a high standard then.... that, makes a good lurcher. Quote Link to post
snoopdog 1,256
a good lurcher is a lurcher you can take anywhere on most things and it wont embarass you ,,,,,we all want the best but we cant all have the best ...so get a lurcher for your chosen quarry or quarries and enjoy the the dog,....it only has to please one person and thats yourself......theres just one thing you have to be honest with yourself when it comes to breeding .....you got to ask yourself is there better out there....do you need to breed this dog.....dogs and natives also makes a good point .... supersam 64
a dog is as only as good as its owner in most cases..if you give the dog the best then expect the best from it... if you treat the dog poorly and the dog is not fit and healthy then dont expect it to be a world beater you only get out what you put into it... well for me 2 seasons and if its not doing the biz i get rid... as some dogs take to it quicker than others so i dont go by age but by 2 working seasons regards SS Quote Link to post

supersam 64
well im not saying what i do is right but its just the way i do it... mabey for some dogs you would get rid of sooner as you just know there not going to do it and others ya give more time..its more of an average i put up and its my way of thinking and not anyone elses... some dogs iv kept for life and have gotten a great bond with them and would have never gotten rid of them but they proved themselves to me in the field first... regardsSS Edited July 4, 2009 by supersam Quote Link to post
