I know that I am going to take a beating for this

The no good LFD has sold bubbleduck a shooting stick made out of old lead plumbing and some left over tarred railway sleepers. Now she is not the biggest of persons and with some of us like me in the noodle arm club. Naturally, she was not happy with the weight of that gun. So after having had a look at some pictures on the interweb and then looking at some pictures of guns as well, we decided that there is still room for improvement on the weight side of said gun thing. She came to my place, kissed the good looks of her gun good by and I started up some power tools. You know, chain saw and that kind of thing. So after cutting the fore end, slimming the gun down and changing the profile of the fore end to a more half round 410 kind of shape and cutting out a bit of the arse end, we started to attack the thing with sand paper and wire wool and a first coat of linseed oil, this it what we ended up with.

This diet took about 2 and a bit pound of the fat bird and now bubbleduck is a happy camper as she can hold it now without using some hundred year old oak for a prop up.

Cheers folks. You see after she had one look at my weather station she thought, that I was more then capable in all things DIY to let me lose with a chain saw and an angle grinder on her HW 100

nice work scuba1 are you planing any more forays in the diy stock makein word or was this just a one way ticket

I don't have the time at the moment as the development of my weather stations is taking most of it up. That, and the AA410 does not need any improvements as it is sexy and light the way it comes out of the box :tongue2:

On a more serious note. No its just a one of as a favour for a fellow hunter.

Bubbleduck was the brave one, handing that gun over to me when all she has seen of my DIY skills was my weather station. ( even though I liked that invention )
