Whatever you think of Murray that was one cracking game of tennis, and i doubt if there was anyone watching on ctr court yesterday who didn't think they had their moneys worth.

 

Murray and Roddick seemed evenly matched throughout the game and Murray just never gave in, even saving one match point by pulling an incredible shot out of the bag, unlike most of the British contingent Murray fights on to the end and just never seems to give in and roll over like your adverage Brit.

 

It was nearly laughable to see Tim Henman analysing Murrays weaknesses with the screenbar underneath him stating 'Tim Henman 6 times grand slam semi finalist', hardly a qualification which allows him to take apart another players game plan, lets face it an on form Henman in his day would have been out in 3 straight sets to Roddick who would doubtless have broken sweat.

 

Murray is 22 yrs old, he has an excellent chance at the US open title and i think he will win at Wimbledon before he eventually retires from the game

Think about it, if he plays until hes 28 then thats another 6 shots at the Wimbledon title.

 

In my opinion Murray is the best player that Britian has produced since Stuart Bale in the 1980s, you may not remember him but he was Boris Beckers training partner, with a serve almost as fast, but had to give up the game through lack of financial support.

 

Murray has the skill and the determination to triumph in the future and i wish him well and thank him for the spectacular he put on with Roddick yesterday

Where is it stated on Record that Murray hates the English ?, i think this is something whipped up by some of the less than factually accurate elements of the media

its all hype lad the british media have a great habit of putting average to awful sportsmen on a pedastal just see em fall flat of there face everytime its embarrasing , paula ratcliffe , wayne rooney , amir kahn , frank bruno , the england football team, do you want me keep going.

 

You have an unrealistic outlook on professional sport mate.....paula radcliffe ( ex world champion ) wayne rooney ( top class international ) amir khan ( fighting for a world title ) frank bruno ( ex world chamipon ).....are these the awful sportsmen you refer to ?

So frank bruno fell on face because he lost a few fights ? wayne rooney fell flat on his face because he didnt score in every game he plays ?

Hype is what people like you do through reading too many newspapers and expecting these flesh and blood creatures to be robots who win everything they do......once you have even a little experience of sport at a reasonable standard you realise its not all as cut and dried as the armchair sports fans make out !.......if you are embarrassed by british sport then dont watch it,simple.

Thats a fair point bird.....but at 23 i would be amazed if he didnt find himself in that position again....nothings set in stone in sport but the lad looks to me like he has a good attitude and should benefit by the big experiences....with tim henman i think he felt a little out of his depth in wimbledon semi finals whereas im sure murray would have seen yesterday as a let down....henman played wimbledon semis like he never expected to be there.....you may be right maybe murray wont get that chance again i just think he will go from strength to strength....whether that will still be enough to be number 1 who knows,finding out is the beauty of top level sport

was a bit pissed off reading this until i red this haha,

 

its like everythign though england win a football match you here about it for f****n weeks scotland wins not much is said, england lose its f****n banned from tv scotland loose you dont stop hearing about it for weeks, like someones said if he won he would be brittish loses then he would be scottish, and as for trying everything in scotland first its true but you never know we might get the swine flu vaccination first, theres only 1 thing to do when english people piss you off, watch braveheart it soon puts a smile back on your face just make sure you aint goin to be in contact with an arrogant englishman within the first few hours of watchin it.

well its true is it not mate? i have a good lot of mates in england most from middlesbrough up to the border iv only ever had the pleasure of being with 1 from below there a guy i went to college with lets jsut say it wasnt at all a pleasant experience especially when we stayed in the same place 5 days a week, im sure there are a lot of good men from the south maybe im just yet to meet 1 eh? this aint for the decent lads from the south that come on here dont youse bother taking offence to this, but the 1s that have posted remarks about scottish people any chance to jump on the bandwaggon and slate a scottish man i dont like tennis i dont follow it and i dont see me following it in the future so this aint about a tennis player its about all this " ah f****n scottish" palava and i aint saying all of them thats posted is from the south dont misunderstand what im saying but there is a lot that will slate the scottish at any chance to me these ones are just f****n idiots, it pisses me off to say the least but then you remember what happened many years ago then you understand why youse are all pissed off eh? no wonder they wish the north was still part of scotland;) just scotsmen living across the border really.

i agree with gnasher, murray has the will to improve and he will go out and put in the work also remember the class of the guy he lost to roddick is a top player who is playing as well as he ever has, his new trainer as got him a stone lighter and a bit stronger and he deserve's to be in the final.
