othickman 6
Finally my firesteel and maya dust and sticks arrived in the post (got as a group off ebay)! Tis awesome - the firesteel not the maya stuff -, but couldn't light paper or the maya dust, so resorted to some cotton wool and once lit used the maya as fuel. Very happy
Guest Scuba1
I keep my cotton wool and my fuel and the firesteel inside a little metal box to keep it all together. they make them at Zippo ATB Michael

Butch No I haven't tried lightning a featherstick yet; nor have I even attempted at making one I can't really though: as I am yet to go hunting my parents refuse to let me get a proper knife (only have a penknife which can do nout ) was hoping to get this but to no avail. And the little garden type axe we have is blunt and I have had very little need of it so my technique would be very poor even with a sharp one.
Little Butch 16
Sharpen that Penknife and give It a go mate.. And that Knife looks good, not had that particular one but have had Mora's and they're great! Butch
