Hello all

A big day today as the pup is allowed to go for her first walk in the Forest as it is a week since she had her second set of jabs.

I am going to take her with the whippet/Beddie but the question is how much is she allowed and should it be on or off the lead.

I have heard horror stories of over exercise causing growth plate problems in later life but none of the books I have give specific recommendations. She is a dam Grey/ Saluki x sire Whippet cross Collie/Grey so I expect her to make @24/26 inch when fully grown.

Thanks in advance

i've always just let the pup "exercise" it's self, not taking anywhere where there is a long walk back to the car etc .....especially important in this heat

just keeping it steady too not encouraging it to go mad

Just back and alls well. She didn't like the lead much but is getting better. Came back when let off and didn't go out of my sight. Met an 'Irish Staff' and was scared but got over it when the dog played with my other lurcher. All in all pretty good.
