ferreterni 29
Aye Ko shamo, this is the result of the clutch I had your advise about. The belgian I think is a cock, the lavenderish one is dutch, and a cock again I think. From a trio of whites, but the breeder had suspected they weren't 100% pure. The cuckoo I am sure is a java as that's the only breed he has this colour, but don't know sex.
Tuzo 251
The lavender doesn't look like a dutch to me mate.....not enough tail. Softfeather aint my thing though so could be wrong.
ferreterni 29
Will get the breeder to look too, only lavenders he had was belgians or the dutch throwing up. Know it's not belgian, Single comb on it.
Tuzo 251
Any chance of it being a cross ? I was looking over some TB's today and i was amazed at the tails on the dutch at such a young age.
Tuzo 251
I'd agree on the cuckoo being a rosecomb (java) Are you a member at http://www.bluelaced.co.uk if not you should have a look. Its a cracking forum with lots of helpful people. Edited June 29, 2009 by Ko Shamo
ferreterni 29
Not a cross, all birds are penned by breed in trio. Unless the parents are crossed and he didnt know. Colour to the feathers isn't uniform some yellowy feathers to it. Only chicken place I have used is backyard chickens, but thats an american site. will look into that one though. It's my first chicken clutch so I am not up on id ing them yet, and they were a lucky dip clutch. Still only want a couple of sebrights though haha

ferreterni 29
Wee fella is a little banged up, the hen who hatched them give hin a pecking and took off a load of feathers. Hen is being rehomed because she keeps doing it. Been a good bird since I got her but this is no good to me. Good layer, broody and rearer just to much for me. Happy to swap for a chick or a layer. ferreterni 29
Any chance of it being a cross ? I was looking over some TB's today and i was amazed at the tails on the dutch at such a young age. You know your stuff, was taking to the breeder yesterday. It's from a laenvelder hen and a white dutch cock bird. Trying to breed the laenvelders down a bit.
