John-B 4
Hi guys and girls I am looking for recommendations for a air rifle to get back into the sport, I am still going to be ferreting in the winter months but would like to get out on my farms with a air rifle to keep populations down and keep farmers happy, I took a break from air rifles when I lost my permission what seems like many years ago, i first started shooting with a BSA supersport mk2 ss Carbine with nikko stirling gold crown 6x40 scopes (I think) the moved on to a theoben rapid 7 with simmons WTC 3.5-10x50 scopes, laser and logun gun lamp, i traded in guns for a nice beretta shotgun to shoot clay pigeons but sold that to buy carp fishing gear, Ideally I want a springer or a gas ram, I have been looking round a few sites and quite like the look of the air arms tx200HC BSA lightning xlot the theoben evolution, I'd prefer to keep away from PCP's for now any ideas and suggestions??? I will more than likely be buying from the airgun centre (unless you can show me somewhere cheaper and better) all suggestions will be taken onboard it's just I used to be well into my airguns but didn't stay up to date with magazines and reviews etc etc.. John-B 4
AAS400 series , best value for money pcp on the market , and crackin guns as well I'd prefer not to have PCP mate, my permissions are quite a drive away and totally overrun with vermin so i don't want the hassle of charging bottles or stirrup pumps, suppose i could just get myself another rapid 7 and a spare buddy bottle HAHA Quote Link to post
John-B 4
I like the look of the BSA Tactical XL is it? No I don't like the look of the tactical, prefer the plain lightning xl i'm a lover of carbines aswell. Quote Link to post
andyfr1968 772
As said, the HW90 really does take some beating. I've shot springers of most shapes, makes and sizes for (oh god!!) 30 years and it's the best one overall that I've come across. Cheers. Edit to say, Lightnings are very over-rated. Not too well built, twangy as hell and the mod's crap. Have a look at Webley springers too. Much better than the BSA. Edited June 28, 2009 by andyfr1968 Quote Link to post
