lost scouse 46
if your thinking about getting your dog chipped get in touch with the dog warden , i have heard in my area they do it for free
thumbless 0
Its a biggish needle, but very sharp, so doesnt hurt too much, the chip is about the size of a grain of rice, and is like a small glass capsule. It is inserted between the shoulder blades of the dog, so it lies in the trough and shouldn't be able to slide down away from that point. Cost varies from vet to vet or some councils will run free schemes, seen from £7-25 so worth asking around. U will get a form back from petlog with the chip and dog details, that can be passed to new owners. Edited July 17, 2006 by thumbless

Guest MOLLY
You could also consider ear tattoos, chips have been known the stop working or move about in the body. Mine have both. MOLL.
Guest wickidweasel
Ill have to look into the tattoos ive heard that if an animal is double chipped it knocks out the readings not sure if its true tho. Ive had no probs with the chips ive even got a few ferrets done. avererage price round here is £15 if you have a lot of animals to do its worth doing the coarse
