jonathan 0
best way to stop young ferrets from biteing is to pick them up and say are you a bite are a licker give them your finger if they bite push your finger in side the mouth they will soon stop it but for older ferret 10 weeks + should be flicked on the nose . MikeTheDog 153
i hear that if u spit on ur finger and let them lick it up it tames them is this true No... :11: ...But it is a fecking disgusting practise imo  ....All kinds of nasty shit in the human mouth, second only to a cat I believe ....I hear a bucket of water is supposed to be good for biting ferrets :11: ....I think you have to stand with one foot in the bucket, takes your mind of the ferrets teeth perhaps :11: ...Treat a ferret kit the same way as you would treat a kitten or a puppy Quote Link to post
doddsy1970 9
IMHO the only way to to stop them biting is to handle them. Flicking them only causes aggresive behaviour, like with us humans if someone intentionally hurts us we will fight back. Soft handling and soft words is what i was told by my grandad 20 years ago and i still believe that now. Quote Link to post

woodga 170
:11: :11: yes and its normally some one else, s hand tame ferret that wont bite GOOD HUNTING ALL WOODGA  Quote Link to post
Guest ferret
just treat them like a pair of kittens and play with them a lot,but two hobs together in march of next year will pull each other about because they both will be coming into breeding condition ,you will probably have to split them up even though they have been together for months. Rabbithunter 456
the ferrets love the spit, i do it with al my kits and flick their noses when they nip. Quote Link to post
The Ferret Tamer 1
If you go with Woodgas advice you won't go far wrong. Handle em as often as possible and you will have ferrets were you can shove your arm down a rabbit hole to pull em out with no fear of being bitten. A working ferret you have no confidence in is no good to you! All the best FT  Quote Link to post
Rabbithunter 456
A working ferret you have no confidence in is no good to you! Too true, i wouldnt have a ferret that i couldnt trust with my finger end- even my big hob's i can confidently put my hand down a rabbit burrow with confidence. When the hobs are in season one of them tends to grab my finger, doesnt bit, just holds. Must want to ride my hand :11: Quote Link to post

You not got any kids???.During the summer holidays i like getting the kitts out on the lawn with the kids after a bit they never bite and will never be sulkers Nah no kids im only 16 lol Quote Link to post

Guest Bigbob
During the summer i dont mind getting my fingers nibbled or my hands covered in scratches with my youngsters as during the season you got to put your hand down a hole every time you dig a bunny out ,but i must be getting old i dont like getting bitten in the webbing between the fingers that bloody hurts Quote Link to post
