poacher3161 1,766
IMO a lot of dogs that over heat is to do with the thickness of their skin not neceseraly their coat for example a first cross collie grey will sufer more than a featherd saluki cross in milder weather. My own preferance is a dog with a slieghtley brocken coat ie not smooth or rough.atvb Quote Link to post
nottzhunter08 898
dont get me wrong ive seen some very nice rough coated dogs but i would always prefer to stick to racey smooth coated. Quote Link to post
Malt 379
...also ive been told ruff coated dogs get very hot whilst lamping, mooching etc. For every bit of genuine info on here, there's a huge pile of shite! If you believed everything you read on here, you'd think: a collie X is too smart to work, a bull X is too stupid to work, a whippet curls up & dies in the winter, a dog can't catch a hare unless it's saluki based, long haired dogs overheat, short haired dogs get too cold, Patterdales are too hard, JRT's are not hard enough, Wilf's not gay, etc, Quote Link to post
