cleaning the t8

Recommended Posts

i clean mine with abit of 3in1 oil, but ive only had it a matter of months and the muzzle end of the moderator is rotting already so god knows what its like inside. i dont know if it would be worth while given it a run in a ultra sonic cleaner then throughly dried out.

Liam send it back ! You will get a new one .

Smithy Why do you think it need cleaning ? I only spray mine with WD40 about once a year, and then very lightly .

It is used every sat night rain or dry just leave out to air when i get in and put away in the morning

I used to spray with WD40,but,it sent the zero all over the place,so now I just take it off when I get in and put it on top of the boiler for it to completely dry out.............Martin.

T8,S ARE GREAT SOUND MODDIES BUT THEY ARE SHITE AS FAR AS LONGGEVITY IS CONCERNED !. Had 2 now, the first only had a few months and a hole appeared through the outer casing, Jackson refused to accept there was a problem, instead saying i had abused it, b......s, everytime i took it out the cabinet "next to the aga" even if i did not fire a round, it was placed on aga then WD40,d. Would NEVER buy another one, PES all the way from now on.

I also bought a 2nd hand t8,every time i have been out and taken a shot i take the t8 off the gun, at the end of a box of bullets i give the t8 a light squirt of WD4O i have had no problems yet.

wd40 is fine if used sparingly, apparently it has an anti rust component that will strip the finish after a while, the ultra sound means is the one i use. its exactly the same kit that tattoist use to clean there equipment. like a baymarie full of a cleaning fluid, pop the mod in and immerse, turn on and the pulses generated clean the insine/outside gently. remove-dry- light lubrication and back on.i was told theres no need for cleaning sealed moderators but decided to do it anyway, surely the effects of a dirty barrel would apply to a dirty mod??
