Training a JackRussel

i have a jack russel pup,and was wondering what would be the best way to train it for rabbits??

 

and what age its best to start them??

Take it out at around 5 or six months to an area with plenty of rabbits or a rabbit pen if you know someone that has one he should hunt automatically but to encourage get a dead rabbit and let him rag it. while he rags it make a noise. i personally use "ssssss" as my noise. then when your bushing and make this noise he will know what you want of him and he should put the head down and hunt. If he rises a rabbit then "sssss" again and he will go mad for it. he will soon know what he is supposed to do. Take him with experienced dog if possible.

last JR i had i taught him with a rabbit... and then tied the dead rabbit to rope and ran round the garden with it then let the dog chase it so he gets used to it, then took him up and got me bro to hold the rabbit, close by, then dragged the rabbit along the floor, and hid it in various holed and corners, untill he got it every time.

Try the Winkhound method......

 

1. Give your JR a very poofy name like "Tiggles" or "Wiggles" or "Snuffy" or some such shite!!

 

2. When you call it, make a very gay voice "Snnuuuufffyyeeeeee, come to Dadda, here poppet etc"

 

3. Be a complete fecking idiot
