I have used fly traps for years with good results. I find that they work better if I put them near the dog pens but not too close. If you put them too close to the dogs, you end up attracting flies to the area that you want to rid them from. I put mine about 20 yards away from the nearest dog. I hope you have good results also. :)

Thanks for that, Big Bob. I looked at their Reusable Fly Trap and it's inspired me. I think I'll just nip out to my stable and make one! :good:

Give it a few days and, if I can pull this off, I'll report back here on how it goes. Hopefully with a shot of loads of dead flies too. Only I've had something out there for ages now; Too good to throw away and just waiting to find a purpose. I reckon this could be it :)

:D They work superbly well have two of them in the ferret sheds and hardly see any flies since installing them.

I am using a fish meal based bait seems to work best.

Regards FT

My Missus breeds rabbits and she uses a KONK FLY KILLER, its basically a totally safe (unless your an insect)

spray that is set inside a wall mounted box.

It lets off a small spray at intervals and is controlled with a 9v battery.

You can get them on ebay for 34 quiddies, it only works inside sheds, kennels and the like.

Hi all this is my Ridmax this was 3 days in standing over a little dog stool.... im on my 3rd trap full...

p10100132uv.jpg

Saddler

How the bloody hell does it work????

Ive got one and from what i can gather you are supposed to leave a gap (standing on the legs) with the bait underneath it...yes?....Then why dont the flys just leave the way they came in instead of going up into the little hole in the cone?

MOLL.

Put the bait in the trap.. i also put bait under the trap but you dont have to do this as bait in the trap will work fine... What bait you using ???
