nighttimenellie 4
Took a few snaps of this fella Haaf netting, a good traditional way of netting Salmon and Sea trout. things always look good in black and white Just along from this lad was this Heron doing exactly the same thing, fishing, but on a smaller scale, tried to sneak up to him but he took off before i got close enough

nighttimenellie 4
No he didnt catch anything but i was only there 5 mins, asked to take pics , rattled off a few, had a quick chat about the season, he said it was quiet, but they never admit to how many they catch incase your the tax man lol. Have saw them catch them before though, if you look at the lads left hand he has a bit of the net in it, its so they can feel the fish go in, and they tip the net up, hit it with a priest and put it in the sack over their shoulder, as The one said they stay out in the water even when its up to their shoulders, they face one way as the tide comes in , then turn and catch the fish as they run back out with the tide, i have sometimes seen 6 or 7 standing side by side, in the channels and all catching, but the Eden , which is the river the fish run into is better later on. I am standing in England and taking a photo of Scotland, across the sea, cant be too many places you can do that(glasson point, looking over to Annan, it is the old Capple cross power station you can see in the first Heron pic, after they dropped the towers.)
