i have gone through around 6 tins of pellets since i got the rifle. its still running at around 10-11 ft lbs i am just wondering how soon i will be needing a replacement spring or rifle?!! I am going to a farm in the middle of nowhere in the hols and i dont want to find that my gun is useless once i have gone through a tin.

The disadvantages of firing fag filters through your barrel are:

1: As the piston cant build up any pressure because of the lack of resistance that a fag filter offers it will slam to the end of its travel about as hard as if dry firing and that is a no no for a springer.

2: Breaking the filters of your cigs, you end up with a mouth full of tobacco.

Nice what charging gear are you getting? and whos going to pay £175 for a broken gun firing at 8ft lbs? Why the s200 and not the S410? its not much more expensive. oh yea and what flavour? .177 or .22?

True true. i wont be doing that then!

So what is the situation on how many pellets? you seem to be a plethora of information scuba

One can't put it down to how many pellets as it is much more important to know how much time the spring is compressed in its life. It is IMHO not a bad idea to crono your gun every 2 to 3000 pellets or so and see if the power drops.

At the end of the day, its not just the spring that's responsible for a drop in power but also the seals and a few other bits and bobs that wear out.
