Guest Frank
As above, from all your experiences, which one do you find best? If you vote, please make comment on reason why, thanks. Frank. Quote Link to post
IanB 0
I've bought a mkIII ready for next season and haven't used it yet, so I'll let you know come october , but first impressions it does appear better as long as you tape over the bleeper with some sparky tape as it is a bit too loud...theres an even newer version available now with a sort of volume knob Quote Link to post
Guest chilli
mrk 3 all the way piss's all over the mrk 1 , annoying sound yes but a mile more accurate imho . tape sorts the sound Quote Link to post

hawkanddog 0
Cheers. Keep it coming, im trying to make up my mind, before i spend all my dosh and become skint. Frank. I bought a MK II at the Game fair last year Mr McKay and used it last season. Must say it is an excellent bit of kit. The MK III is even better. I find myself tracking my girls to see what they are up too. I have found a couple of times that the jills keep going to the same place and staying still. So I mark these spots and dig them out. What I have found is a row of bunnys all jambed down a stop end within the set. The ferret keeps going back and having a go at the back marker. With the finder you can start to form a better picture of whats going on under ground plus adding bunnies to the bag that you would never of had. The down side is, I usually have the finder in my hand instead of my .410 when I get 2 bolting, one after another. So, my opion is get the MK III you will not regret it, and can someone design a .410 with a ferret finder attachment. :11: Quote Link to post

Guest Frank
Im thinking of getting a Deben MK I 15 ft locator, that some one has on offer, do you think i should go for it, or is the 8 ft MK I or the new Mark III a better choice. Apparently, when i asked about spares for the future, he said, Deben still sell spares for the MK I. Frank. Quote Link to post

The collar for my MK II is the same as the MK III and you have to make sure you tighten them especially as the ferret is in winter coat. I have just been on the Deben web site and you can still get the spares. You pays your money and takes your chances like every bit of electronic kit you buy from TV's to washing machines. Guest chilli
How do you ferret at the moment then frank with out a collar an box ? Quote Link to post
Guest Frank
Like i have said before, i am just getting back into ferreting after a 10 year gap. Back then i was poor and did not have the dosh to splash out on a locator. I never lost a ferret though and did do a good bit of ferreting then. If the ferret did not come out, i bloked all the holes, put the ferret box next to the hole i left open, with some rabbit liver in it and came back at first light. The ferret was allways a sleep in it and was glad to see me. Now that im getting back into it, i have a bit more cash (not much more ) so can afford a locator. I just want a get a good one, for my moneys worth. Frank. Quote Link to post
