start with balls and make it fun,

if you think they are getting bored stop,

try again next day, give loads of praise when they do retrive.

i must say tho,you have got your work cut out with two dogs the same age.

as they distract each other.

so you might need to do a bit of one to one with them.keep at it.

when they get used to retriving the ball move on to a dummy,

after they get used to retriving the dummy get a rabbit skin

and either stitch or tie it round the dummy.

this works for me,

i hope this helps.

all the best.

lofti.

Seperate the dogs when training and get your recall working every time, when thats good start with a tennis ball or something and when they return praise them and finish on a high, if they are starting to get worse stop and leave it for another day, leave them wanting more.

My bitch retrieves a ball or toy all day long to the hand never drops it.If theres other dogs there including her buddy she wont retireve she wont give the feckin thing back at all its HERS so still trying to stop this little habit. My advice would b a tasty treat every time the ball comes to hand ignore the dog if it doesnt and throw the ball again
