hi i have the fire arms officer coming round tommorow i am hoping to get a 177 rim fire just wonderd what sort of questions they ask about me

well to start with if you ask for a 177 rimfire your credibility will be lowered somewhat. you want to ask for a .17hmr. do some reading up on this calibre to show that you know what you're talking about. with mine it was a completely informal chat and cup of tea so as long as you know what you're talking about and you have good reason then you shouldnt have any problems. he/she will ask about your history of firearms, your reasons for needing to possess one ect ect.

 

however, i seriously think you should read up a bit on the .17hmr because if you dont know the calibre you want then your chances might be slightly lowered. i'm not having a dig just trying to make sure you don't get declined.

i read out like you said to about the air rifiles and the firearm officer said iam aloud a 22 rim fire and a high powered air rifle he was a really nice bloke

Can i just ask did you apply for a 17HMR and on what grounds did he refuse you, why did he grant you FAC air and a rimfire instead? I'm just curious to know.
