Red Legged Partridge ???

This guy was wandering round on my permission for about an hour and a half , i had to move him , so i put him under a bush , and before you say i should have left him , he was going to be magpie food . Just wondered if hes a red legged partridge , as i think he is , but not sure , cheers guys .

Was there only one, they normally run around together in like a family group?

 

 

I have seen them , like you say , in a group there , but he was alone , and calling for ages , i only moved him cause i though he`d end up as supper

Think you should have taken the Magpie out ;)

It seems odd as they normally stay in a family unit. Perhaps it would have been excusable in this instance to have taken him home to rear until adulthood. I should imagine he will die on his own......shame for the little birdy, but thats nature......JD
