Rolfe 2
Had to go and clear the few resident bunnies from under a couple of trees in the grounds of a large country hall. The trees were right beside a recently installed lake.....that already had a large family of Canada geese set up home. The ground was pretty hard under the trees so i netted a few holes..........and wrapped the quickset around the rest. I slide the gromets down the poles on my system so the net stands barely 18 inches high.........this gives some added kill (bagging). Finished the day with 6 big uns.........and a couple of little uns. Quote Link to post

Rolfe 2
Yes........doing it for a living is different from doing it for sport.......i have to remove every rabbit i can....big, small, they all have to go. The ferrets killed a few little un's down the holes.......but they never stay on a kill and i had NO digging to do......the jills i keep just never stay on a kill .........and for that i am eternally grateful. Brimmer 220
Like Stubby says, I am one of the people who does not agree with the summer sport, never had and never will. I think it sets a bad example for hunting to be honest, and have to say puts me off clicking on the site. I understand fully that it has to be done in some cases, but does it need making public? Forgive me if i don't offer a positive comment to the post, but could you explain your situation on why you have to do it? Is it your Job on the estate? Pest controller and there's a wage for doing it? Bounty on the heads? Your job is on the line if they are not shifted? I'm not after any sort of arguement, just putting in the picture, sure i'm not the only one. Quote Link to post

I am a full time pest controller i make my living removing unwanted pests be that rabbits, fleas, cockroaches, rats, mice, wasps etc. Unsavoury as some people may find it i am paid to do a job and i do it as quickly and humanely as i posibly can. I run a trap line all year round on a golf course contract and remove in excess of 2000 rabbits each year, Cage traps mostly.....this combined with night time shooting keeps the rabbits under control. Clients pay me to do a job.....and if that includes removing young rabbits then so be it........! Quote Link to post
