Squirrel_Basher 17,100
Just stumbled across an old mk IV fenn on some permission I have....now that lucky Ian- Dont know the extent of your trapping experience mate but if you want the trap to appear natural, only want to use natural materials and would rather people didnt find the trap then heres what I do -Lift the turf from your chosen trapping site and put to one side.Find 4 logs about 3' long and lay 2 side by side about 6" apart inside the dig out .Cut some pegs about 18" long and push them in either side the logs to hold them in position .Place the other 2 logs on top the other 2 ,creating a height of about 8".With more logs [short] cover the top placing them at 90 degrees to the bottem logs.Cover until the light is almost gone in the tunnel.Put safety on the trap and site it about 6" from one end. Peg the ring down and slip safety off with a stick.Push 2 sticks into the ground either side the trap plate to stop any non targets and also to channel vermin onto the plate. Place the turf back on gently and check regularly .These trap sites ,with a bit of maintenace ,will last for several seasons .Good luck. Quote Link to post
