patterdale 673
i know that you shouldnt pick up hitch hikers as a rule but felt abit sorry for this guy one night while on my way back from a good nights lamping, the weather was really bad raining cats and lurchers,i stopped the van he got in very greatfull, had a good conversatioin with him for about ten minutes, and then he went all strange on me because the dogs started barking at him ,everything i said to him he told me to not be so nosey, asked him politely not to be so nasty towards me but put up with it only had another mile and half till he wanted to get dropped off, glad to see him get out wont be doing that again, the only bonus was he left his rucksack in my van which was a bonus to me couldnt beleive my eyes when i opened it!!!!!!!! Guest ESS
Practising blinds with a couple youngsters ,lab at me side placing dummys on edge of wood walking back I could here footsteps on gravel.Just thought someone walking dog at side of woodline ...lab all bristled up .. Sent youngsters one by one none would go more than 50 yrds ,,,heard footsteps again unable to see owt. Being lazy bstard sent lab to get dummys she wouldnt move ..walked up again all three dogs at me side to get the dummyies heard a gate latch and more footsteps when I stopped they stopped..picking dummys up I noticed that all three dogs were like hair brushes heckles up and staring intently to my left..Started now to get spooked even more so when I realised there was not gravel path nor gate on side of wood..There had been 60 years ago when that strip led to Village before they built the airport 60 yrs ago ..I found out the following night when speaking to the retired gamekeeper,,

csme55ex 2
Shortly after getting my first car, i drove to a spot, i had been many times before, it was a good night by the time i got to 3rd field, had got a few, i was thinking about nothing but hunting, how well dog was going ect,as i jumped into 3rd field though, before i had even turned on lamp. Every hair on me was standing on end,I really started to shit it, i was scared to turn on the lamp, expecting to see a ghost,or my dog`s hackles up or something.Any way plucked up courage, put the lamp on dog first ,if she wasn't happy i was gone, dog was happy enough just looking for stuff, quick shine around didn't see any ghost,s but no rabbits either.Off with lamp again and i stood there trying to calm myself down, it didn't work though, i went back to van as quick as possible, didn't even turn on lamp again, didn't even stop to try any where else,I was spooked! About a month later i was taking 2 lads out for a shine. took them to the same spot, i hadn't been back, thought this would be a good time to go.Any way nothing bad happened,we all got some sport. When we got back to car, the farmer and his son were there. Son sat in the front of his jeep making sure we could see the shot gun he was holding. That farmer was pissed, demanded we hand over our lamps. We politely told him not a hope, but we would give him the rabbits and apologised. This calmed him, apparently some one had left a gate open and let out his cattle. As things calmed down he pointed at my dog, and said he had been sat in a field watching me shortly after the gate incident, he reckoned he and his son was going to make a example of me,but i got to the field next to were they were waiting then disappeared. Weird but true!!! I have permission now days! allways trust your instincs looks like thay helped you out that time mate
