lost a few over the years nearly lost one few months back but managed to revive him , it got to be the worst feeling in the world loosing your little warrior, youve bred him nertured him trained him and then he dies doing what he loved fcking gutted

like its been said its all part of the game its sad to say, and its a b*****d when it happens, even more for me is when i lost 2 in a wk a good few year ago, a good earth bitch i owned whilst of the lead only for a roe to jump up and cross a busy road with the bitch behind it,( the roe made it over), then i borrowed my pals bitch to run on as he was busy with his boxing only for me to dig to it jaw up both dead, believe me i felt a c**t telling him ide lost his dog but he under stood as its all part of terrier work sometimes, a good few lessons was learned from that experience i can tell you,

it depends the one we lost last year suffocated but some terriers can just be to hard for thare own good

just out of intrest has anyone lost a terrier diggin last january me and a mate dug down to his lakeland dog and he was dead but this terrier was a very keen dog below ground has this happend to anyone else

i dont want to sound like a smart c**t but bud 9 their is something that has been on my mind about your posts for a while your terriers look nice ones but their is no way they have seen much.on a pervious post you say your old dog has dug over 250 big fellas their isnt a mark on him i would put up a picture of a dog half his age that isnt hard but i would only get in to bother over it.you say your dog uses his head thats why he has no marks on him it dosent matter what way he is useing his head if he has dug the amount you say he has then it would show.dont try and tell me any diifrent because i have seen old dogs that have done the same as you say your dog has.and belive me your dog looks the picture of health compared to them

marks arent their to show off but a dog thats worked will get them and if your useing him on what you say then it would show but if your happy with him its noting to do with me but just be honest if your breeding off him theirs a few lads on here that do work their dogs and then theirs the lads that say they do

It all sounds good for selling pups to gullable people.When you bullshit your dogs on here you should at least know what your talking about.

Only lost one of mine so far, touch wood... but the lads i dig with and hunt lads who have same lines have lost their share as well.

 

I reckon my old dog came close, as he spent 3 days in a cave and came out in a bad way.

 

As for unmarked digging dogs, ive never seen one, and I own a wee bitch that can only be described as a bayer, she can keep out of trouble, but she has done 3 seasons now and it shows, though nothing serious.

I'M AFRAID THE WORDS HORSE, DEAD AND FLOOGING SPRING TO MIND! THERE'S THE BUD9 FANCLUB THAT WILL JUMP TO HIS DEFENCE AS IN EVERY OTHER THREAD HE STARTS. MOST PHOTOGRAPHED DOGS ON THL IMO. BUT IF LADS WILL BE STUPID ENOUGH TO PART WITH THEIR CASH FOR A PUP FROM HIM THEN THAT'S UP TO THEM. AND LIKE SOME OF THE REST OF YOU GUYS HAVE SAID NO MATTER HOW MUCH BRAINS YA DOG HAS THE QUARRY YA DIG HAS IT'S BRAINS TOO, I'VE HARDLY EVER EXPERIENCED A DIG WHERE THE DOG HAS NOT TAKEN A HIT OR 2, PROVIDING THE DOG IS DOIN THE JOB CORRECTLY AND IS TIGHT TO THE GAME SOUNDING. A DOG WITH LARGE NUMBERS UNDER IT'S BELT WILL LOOK WELL WORKED EVEN IF IT'S AN OUT AND OUT SOUNDER. MAYBE A DOG THAT SITS WELL BACK A FEW FEET MIGHT NOT GET HIT BUT THEN IMO A DOG SITTING BACK LIKE THAT DOESN'T MERIT A DISH OF FOOD AND A KENNEL TO SLEEP IN.
