Matt 160
I'd be the last person to defend over pricing, but................... the one thing you have to remember is that the bigger a company is, the higher it's overheads will be. Pretty ladies to answer the phone cost money, as do managers, surveyors, health and safety consultants, laptops, servers, and all the other crap that goes with running a big concern. I always used to say to my staff, "you either cost this company money or you make money to pay for everyone else. The only people in a pest control company who make money are the technicians. Without them, the rest of us would be fecked, so in a way, we all work for them". One mistake that small pest control businesses often make is to worry too much about what everyone else charges. Work out your costs, and from that you should be able to work out what to charge. Feck the rest of em. Quote Link to post

stubby 175
one problem with big companies (as matt the rat stated) is that theres lots of workers other than the tech's our company has, shall I say, a surveyor that wouldent know his arse from his elbow, he constantly either underprices on very big jobs, or under estimates the time limit, and has admitted to myself and other tech's, that its because of "his commission" which gets paid to him, when the job is accepted, rather than when its finished, all he see's is ££££££ signs, rather than the actual problem Quote Link to post

I agree with what you are saying Foxy no malice to you from me ,, But your bosses are running what was a good business in the ground due to over charging, now in my book that is bad for business and no amount of ...... "we are a large organisation" can justify ripping of old ladies who dont know how to shop around Look at the supermarket business they are big organisations but they strive to give a cheeper place to shop Scroll down and have a read of some of these comments from ex employees.... http://news.sky.com/skynews/Home/Business/...200807415056375 Quote Link to post

Francis Fogbound 0
Won't be a problem for the local guys in Libya either as they'll be too expensive there! Spare a thought though for the not so big guys, who are trying to make a living and being undercut by "enthusiastic amateurs" I wonder if the taxman is aware of these peoples actvities!!!
