my next lurcher

Recommended Posts

my first dog collie/grey sadly had to be put to sleep in january this year at the grand age of 19 i was gutted and cried like a baby i now miss having the company of a four legged companion/hunting parter and a good allrounder/pet

so i feel ready to get my next dog and wanted some opinions from you guys

i seen a few ads in the countrymans weekly that i was intrested in and the bullxs caught my eye but most look too "heavy" in my opinion.

so im on the look out for either a collie/grey/bull or mabey a collie/grey/bull/saluki

im leaning on the collie/grey/bull/saluki i think the breed should have good charicteristics speed, stamina, brains, strenght and gameness hopfully agility too im looking for a good allrounder day/night and pet

any opinions, pics or info from people working these breeds would be greatly appreciated

Go for a colliexgrey xbullxgrey , thats what iam going for with my next lurcher. Ive had colliexgreys, and bullx greys, both good dogs. Ive got a 1x collie grey now, Bryn 19 months old done well last season 100 rabbits and few Bigger rabbits in the lamp . I think with that bit bull in your colliex grey, should had that bit more Grit , and tone the collie down just a bit. If it comes out right, you could have a lurcher that will tackle all game [large+small] :victory:

bird thats a nice looking dog you got there. yeah im after a dog that will take anything put infront of it iv heard the ban will be lifted in a couple of years and dont want to be stuck with a pure rabbit dog. good dogs colliexs cant fault them one bit

would it be worth goin for abit of saluki in the collie/grey/bull for abit of stamina or wouldnt you bother

unless you are going for Bigger rabbits most times, the collie, bull, grey, will handle most stuff. And you dont want to put to many breeds in the mix.? If you went 1x colliegrey to 3/8 bull 5/8 grey or 1/4 bull 3/4 grey, you would plenty of speed+agilty and still enough drive [guts] from the bull. :victory:
