Have you ever been caught/chased by the keepers or landowners etc etc and beaten up or got into a fight of some sort ? I,ve been shot at when i was younger..but it was from a distance and im sure the farmer knew he was only peppering the trees above us whilst we were making a hasty retreat... still shit mi pants though..hehee. atb vin. borntoshoot 1 Posted June 16, 2009 Report Share Posted June 16, 2009 been shot at in my permission. i dont mean to insult anyone here but it was gypsy's, if they had asked they would have been welcome to have a few rabbits if they wanted but they didnt so me and the farmer went to talk to them, they only pull out this airpistol and start shooting at us, also ive been shot by accident while beating, was only a few pellets but with enough power to penetrate the skin, doctor pulled it out and said " looks like a number6 to me mate" LOL Quote Link to post Share on other sites
Guest vin Posted June 16, 2009 Report Share Posted June 16, 2009 A few of my old mates were poaching years ago in a dodgy place...when they returned to the van..they were just about to set-off when they were set upon by the keepers and beaten very badly..baseball bats etc etc pick axe handle through the windows of the van,they dragged em out and hospitalised them all.. one of them is still called Sqwealer to this day because he was screaming like a pig when they dragged him out of back of van and kicked the shit out of him...they laugh about it now and take the piss out of each other about who did what on the night... but let me tell you one thing..they all shit thier pants when in happened..no matter what they say now. my biggest fear when i was a young lad wasnt getting caught ...it was getting taken home by the police.... my dad would not be a happy chappy.. nowadays i stick to permission...im too old to be running. atb vin Quote Link to post Share on other sites

doxhope 2 Posted June 16, 2009 Report Share Posted June 16, 2009 Was lamping around the Wooler area of Northumberland, a lamp started scanning the field for us, we got back onto the road, and got stopped on the way back to our motor, after leaving one lad with the dogs and lamps. About 12 keepers and farmers were at our car. I got hit across the side of the face with a bat, got a few slaps and punches too, we were pleased to see the feds when they eventually arrived. desertdog 149 Posted June 16, 2009 Report Share Posted June 16, 2009 been chased a few times, but never got nailed, me and a mate were lamping, and on came the head lights, we scarpered into a dell, and layed there, with the farmer shouting,it was close but it never stopped us, if anything it put us on alert to be more careful, just out of devilment, never wanted conflict and we never got it, ended up with permission, cos the farmer could,nt catch us, bit different nowadays they send the iron bird up and your fekked.even fooled the cops one night told i was an insomniac, and i,d walk my dog to find roadkill to feed him, that was a bit scary with plod just about believeing me,good job he did,nt look under me coat,but they let me go. Guest world.hunters Posted June 16, 2009 Report Share Posted June 16, 2009 me and REW was out a long time ago on home ground got about half way across a huge field, when we caught a glimpse of a red filter and the sound of a 4X4 we laid low for abit as it got closer we decided to make our way back as we did the red light was scanning the field we picked up past and i saw the lamp directly on us we started to jog off and then we heard a gun shot dont know where they were pointed the gun but f**k me it made us move alot quicker lol all adds to the excitement and the memories. w.h Quote Link to post Share on other sites
doga 50 Posted June 16, 2009 Report Share Posted June 16, 2009 had a mad man shoot over me wouldnt have botherd with the man but had two lads with me and was concerned for their welfair so i aproched him he shit him self cause i went to him, soughted it out he dont live their no more had too much hassle afterwards aparently.also had high rate farmer point gun at me when i used to keeper on my own beat,after trying to calm him down he wouldnt let up it was a bit tence whilst pointing at each other.after the gaffer had finished with him he said well you never know whos about nower days yeh feckin him for one.
