Pembshunter 23
Hi, I have 2 jills, sisters and I put a Hob over both of them this year...The first Jills kits died as she couldnt feed them, her teats where only producing a opaque type substance and werent slightly pushed out as they should be...I called the vet but he didnt care, he just said, could be an infection, and then sent me a bill for "Telephone time" £20!! My second jill is now ready to drop, But her teats are also now producing this opaque substance.....Where as my old jill who died last year, always had milk ready before se dropped and teats where well pushed out. Please nobody bill me for forum response charges! Edited June 15, 2009 by Pembshunter Quote Link to post

Malt 379
What vets did you use mate? Just curious, because I'd like to know so that I never give my them my custom. Quote Link to post
Pembshunter 23
They get a variety, rabbit, pigeon, lambs hearts, venison , pheasant, very occasional dry food and occassional milk for a treat. Its a new Hob as well. Although he has bred with several jills with no problems - As well as a new vet, I may contact some blokes who have the other sisters of these ferrets, because the bloke I got them from could be described as a ferret farmer, might be some genetic problem maybe? noddy6560 0
Not sure about that but try this forum as there are people who breed on it and are very experianced. it's mainly pet owning but a load of info to be got and they are friendly http://www.ferretsforum.co.uk/forum/forumdisplay.php?fid=7 Quote Link to post
para1 11
It's not normal to feel ferrets teats mate. Why not just let nature take its course the only problems I have ever come across with people breeding ferrets is when they fiddle with things they shouldn't be fiddling with. Give them plenty of fresh meat, fresh water, keep them clean and find something Else to play doctors and nurses with. P1 Quote Link to post
