Hunting wild deer

Recommended Posts

Hi sorry but im going to honest & i think you should not do this alone. You need guidence as if you dont have a clue nor cant find or know anything about the animals you hunt how the hell you going to know the shot what/when & then what to do once dead if you kill it right pest or no pest it deserves respect. To find & locate deer etc is quite easy to be honest & if you stuggle at this then its in your interest to seek guidence as you could wait a while till you get lucky but could be done quickly with help.

To be honest ! Your post sounded like a wind up to me !

Your other posts have mentioned pig hunting etc ,so you have been around hunting folk before .

Yet you still wanted to know if deer have a drink at lunchtime ???????

Now you know all about pest species and native animals in your country ,and you ask a 95% uk forum about hunting Deer with a bow in Australia ??

Regardless of whatever country you happen to be in , If you want to hunt something and dont know its habits ?

Then switch off your computer ,get off your RRs and spend some time LOOKING .

Yea mate i have been pig hunting but not deer hunting thats why i am asking for help at what time would be best and where would i more than likely find them at certain times of the day so i can go out and find one.

"If you wish to hunt deer in Australia, you will need to purchase a deer hunting license. The deer hunting license can be purchased from the Department of Natural Resources & Environment and is valid for hunting all available species of deer. International visitors will also need to purchase an International Visitor Firearm Permit and a Customs Import Permit if they would like to bring their own firearms to hunt with."

"It is also legal to hunt deer in Australia with a bow, as long as the bow meets certain specifications. There are different specifications for each type of bow that can be used for hunting deer, including a long bow, a cross bow, a recurved bow, and a compound bow. The arrows used for hunting deer must be broad-head with no less than two sharpened cutting blades."

Looks like you have a lot of learning to do before you start twanging arrows about the countryside !!!!

My best advice to you would be to find someone who knows what they are doing , get your LICENSE ! , and make sure your bow is legal for the job .

Thank you for the link.

hi mate, best thing to do is check the area that you hunt over, is there signs of deer activity? e.g foot prints etc. IF there is then you can start to stalk your quary. a good time to see deer is at dusk and dawn. go out with friend just to get a bit more experience that way when you go out on your own you know what to look for and will be more successful.
