escort 12b semi auto

Yes... dont get one, save a little more money and get a better quality one. I found this out the hard way, I bought one about 3 years ago, I was still in college doing my A levels with a part time job so could only afford an escort (I paid £325 I think), while out on the marsh after geese this past season I fired a shot and the pressure from the shell going off had damaged my action big style. I sent my gun to the BASC firearms dept for tests and they discovered the materials escort make arent up to scratch. The problem found with mine is a small locking tooth on the bolt had worn down and this meant the bolt wasnt fully locked in place so the cartridge discharged and all of the pressure forced the bolt back into my action. It could have been alot worse, I was lucky in that I was unhurt. Save a little more money and get a better quality and well made shotty :gunsmilie:

Ah well this should set the cat among the pigeons.

I have got two, one for claying & one for wildfowling. The clay gun had had 6to8 thousand cartridges through it over the last four years, NO problems.

The other one has had a lot less cartridges through it, but it has 56 gram Steele shot on 3/4 choke & gets covered in mud & sh1t and dropped in the salt water still no problems.

Speak as I find. Don’t knock it till you have tried it. Ned

my shooting butty used to own one and it used to fire 70mm carts ok but used to jam quit often with 65mm carts.

my guns a kept spotless. but it doesn't stop the parts breaking and the gun not being fit for purpose. Their shite In my experience with them. I've got a browning sporting clays thats treated exactly the same and it's never missed a beat

I bought my lad a brand new one last year, blew the barrel up after about 30-35 cartridges.....it is well documented on THL, a real saga of replacement parts and guns all of which were ****..gun eventually returned for a full refund...and still waiting for an explaination/apology from Edgar Bros for nearly killing us!!
