FUJI 17,328
Sorry to hear this,i hope your feeling much better now? Can't say your overweight can they? Your cholestrol is high, the Dr will have you on tablets to reduce that along with a change in your diet to get it down below 5,my father had a heart bypass 12 years ago and before that his cholestrol was over 14! The Gtn spray is good,my advice would be although i'm not a Dr but it's what they told my old man was if your ever going to do something strenuous then take the Gtn BEFORE you do it.I'm sure the treadmill test won't be a problem what with looking after a pack of dogs like you have lol. As for stress, well hopefully tablets will help reduce that.Hope everything goes ok for you.As for the smoking..your a big girl now so it's no good me telling you to stop is it? Good luck. gnasher16 30,598
Has angina actually been diagnosed ? sounds more like some kind of acid indigestion problem if its related to eating.....if your due a treadmill test you must have had an ecg what did that show ? abnormal electricity is not always a problem.......but 9 is insanely high colestorol i would imagine both your blood pressure and resting pulse are both high also.......a treadmill test is your best bet though as it will tell you for definate if you have heart disease/angina....its a process of elimination at this stage....had the same myself about ten years ago i was sure id had a heart attack turned out to be acid indigestion !...felt a bit of a wally but best safe than sorry. Guest little lurcher
def angina, but after reading up on it large meals DO make the symptoms worse , its finding out if its stable or unstable , the unstable you have to inform dvla and your licence is revoked , im hoping after getting meds right i will feel much better again im looking for answers from people living and still working their dogs with the condition as well please
FUJI 17,328
Sorry, i'm late getting back to you LL ,i've spoke to my father and like you say eating LARGE meals can set off angina,he eats little and often but is exactly the same if eating a large meal, fingers crossed you have the the "stable" version ,it may take weeks, months or even longer to get you on the correct medication that suits YOU,my old man took years to get right, hope yours goes much smoother.Take care. All the best PP. Guest THE BEATNICK
i have angina and still dig to my terriers and still run my own business, three years ago i had a heart attack and was taken to hospital where over the next week i suffered another four attacks after many ecg's and echo scan and xray's i was transfered to a hospital that did an angiegram which showed that my heart was in their words badly diseased and stents would be no help the next day i was transfered to another hospital in glasgow where two days later i was given a triple bypass, i did not know i had a problem until the first attack but thinking back i do remember having some pain in my lower jaw and blaming my teeth and the fact that i was a bit breathless after or during some heavy work or digging again i blamed the fact i was getting a bit older and a bit heavier, the pills i take everyday mean i live life pretty much as before, i get tired a bit quicker, i seldom have to use my spray but when i do it works very quickly but it does give you a head ache for a few min's, you dont need me to tell you but you should stop the cigges i have never smoked but its not funny having your breast bone sawn open and the vein from you leg put in your heart so if given up the weed helps you avoid it do it, but like gnasher says it may not be angina. i have unstable which means you can have an attack without exerting your self while stable is usually during or after youve done something which took a bit of effort. i had to give up my hgv license but the car is ok.
