Well this is all new to me, well, was, until i had a conversation on the phone with mole catcher, what an amazingly helpful guy, then i began to understand more. I had already decided that i was buying the book, peg to peg but after speaking with Martin i had to have it asap, i ordered it thursday afternoon and it arrved before 8am friday morning, i read loads of it while the wife was in ASDA for over 2 and a half hours and decided i want a net NOW ! I had a hectic last few days so didnt get my order off but will be doing asap, when my net arrives i wil need Hazel poles, approx a dozen approx 2 ft long, where can i get them from ? Unlike a lot of folk on here, i wouldn't know hazel from alice so its no use suggesting looking for it because i have no idea what to look for, can anyone help please because i want them sorted for when my net arrives around Wednesday hopefully, many thanks

be very carefull when buying poles unseen. they can sound like a good deal but turn out useless for your needs and in some cases dangerous as they can be brittle and splinter or shatter on use such as cane or bamboo.

heres a pic of some finished hazle

this is what their leaves look like

and at this time of the year the bark has a dry leafy type over bark flaking away that rubs off with the hand. the stems are what we want for pole and normally grow in clusters growing upright and straight.
