how about getting in touch with the mods and asking them to put something up that will stay on so anyone that gets dogs stolen can up load pics of the stolen dogs and info about the dogs marks things that will stand out, so that even in a year or two if some goes to buy a dog or see,s a dog that looks like a stolen dog off hear, they can look up and see if its the same dog and get intouch with the owner, and if its there dog they can try find out off the person where and who he got the dog off so you can then go pay a visit to the person that took the dogs and have a nice little chat i dont think its a bad idea at least it will keep the dogs fresh in our minds because these dogs just dont disapear for good someone has them and things always come out in the end...

lads we are all trying to sort this out and there is no need going down the about travlers and knackers ,we all know the robbing goes on , on both sides, we are trying to find a soluation to the problem ATB john....

pull the other one, dont give me that PC brigade bullsxit. travellers are notorious over here for stealing working dogs. i wouldnt use the term knxxkers myself but its still a fact. i've caught them trying to get my springer into a car on night,they were only camped in the area a few days when they tried to steal him..i could tell you countless stories about men with lurchers and terriers who've been robbed or who stopped travellers from stealing their dogs. i know one old man who sold up every dog he had cos he was getting to old and the travellers had him tormented trying to steal his dogs. he just hadnt the energy to get up at night and chase them away. not every dog taken is taken by travellers but imo most are.

as i said both sides ,and just to say not taking any sides any body that takes another mans dogs are scum, but we not here to say what side are taking them, as tt was saying WHAT can we do about it YIS john... Edited June 14, 2009 by mucky paws

my solution is simple really. step up your own security. name and shame anyone who is either buying or selling stolen dogs. stay away from dog dealers as a rule.

after that what else can we do?

if people are willing to buy/sell stolen dogs people will take the risk of stealing them.

also if you catch someone trying to take your dogs cut his ears off.

yeah we had a couple of travellers in our yard yesterday wanting to buy i told them if the didnt leave within a few minutes there would be one less..........i no if i didnt see the fuckers they would have had all me fucken dogs gone the fuckers

I've never had a dog of mine stolen, I'm thankful, but in England lads that have had dogs stolen never to be seen again strongly believe they're going over the water to Eire coincidence or could they be trading them off against each other

just an idea every member of this site that has bought adog in last 6 months or is going to buy dog put picture up u might have bought a stolen dog unknown to urself at least someone might get there dogs back plus it would watch whats going on between england and ireland if dogs are for sale at shows take pictures on phone and reg of vans that night let everybody on here have a look at dogs it could be a new section meeting wont work as was tried with trying to start working terrier federation couple of years ago main topic was the ban on hunting at the time it was a pity it didnt work out
