davyt63 1,845
Hi every one Went out to another permission of mine, in Oxfordshire Charlie and I got there @ 3:45am and had a cuppa tea before we got kitted up. As we were having a cuppa we seen three badgers run from a small wooded area to the other side of the front lawn. Then we decided to drive to the back of the property and get some cover under the trees, as it was gunner be a hot one today. As we pulled up we seen a small deer im sure it was a muntjack I took some video footage of it, and just watched it for a while. Then we were on are way I went south and Charlie went north, said we would meet back at the car at nine for a cuppa tea, so of I set to a small wooded area as I have seen signs of activity here before. So a nice slow stalk in to the wood, as I got a quarter the way in I spotted an adult just the other side of a tree. So real slow now the trouble was I had the wind at my back as I entered. So really so I went and clocked it and THWACK over it went. First of the day I did see another but it clocked me and went down its hole, I stayed here for an hour then moved on. the wooded area and an indication of wind speed ,thanks to the sheep Then I moved on for a mooch, and spotted two kits about 100yds away so headed towards them, they were by some nettles, so I just got in the prone position and waited for them to appear again. And they did one after another THWACK 15 minutes later THWACK again 2 more bagged, then a third appeared but before I could get a shot on it went into the field opposite. But about five minutes later it came out of the field to the right of me so had to THWACK it they were taken from this spot So four in the bag and back for a cuppa tea and a corndog & mustard roll mmmmmm!! Charlie also had 3 kits and one adult so a result!! After are little snack, of we go again I headed east Charlie went west , I got up to the front lawn and spotted twp pigeon’s on the lawn so stalked within range THWACK and its buddy flew of , so left it out as a decoy to see if it would attract any more just for a laugh. But only waited a 45 minutes and nothing so of again, I then headed to a sniping point of mine but nothing there for a while either and some other pic's of the land front lawn the house as far as the boundarie goes so went back to the rear of the property. As I got down by the sheep I spotted another two kits, one this side of the sheep rail and one the other side. So here we go HFT mode THWACK in the bag and THWACK and its buddy can join it, two consecutive shots. HFT shot normal one Then I was right down as far as the boundaries will allow, and found some ones hide who must be shooting on the quarry adjacent to my permission I had a little sun break in the shade for a while as I was there I seen a adult about 50yds away in the long grass. So the stalk was on, I got with in 35/40yds and decided to take a standing shot because the grass was to long for a kneeling one and THWACK great im getting use to this standing shots! as i got closer to it i noticed its leg was up like a golf ball when i gutted it ,and had a look at the lump this is what i found , as i popped it a load of what looked like water, came out of it any one know what this can be ?? Carried on back up to the house and spotted two more out but the sheep had ran and they were of, so a slow walk back to the car, but as we were packing up we spotted two squirrel’s missed the first one but got the second one, a bonus. by this time it was about 2:00pm and we called it a day. {But what a day!!} A total bag of 1 pigeon, 1 sqizzer, & 12 bunnies group pic's, sorry forgot hte pigeon. Happy hunting Davy Quote Link to post
