hunter cammo 0 Posted June 15, 2009 Report Share Posted June 15, 2009 i think getting a dog shot is all part of the thrill of poaching it has never happend to me so i must of been doing something right but if it ever did happen then the guy who shot my dog , well i would put a jinx on the fecker , i dont poach enymore so i think my dogs are safe , if a dog is nailing sheep then it should be shot if the owner is letting his dog nail the sheep then the dog should still get shot , once a dog has naild sheep it is very hard to stop it doing it again unless you are a very good trainer , if a dog is on game and gets shot then that is a difrent ball game altogether it would be war , in my eyes game is wild for all to take, one for the pot is as far as it should go , gang poaching is a no no and poaching and betting is scrote bag game . if you and your dogs are taking the piss poaching the same ground day in day out then expect to get busted at some point and getting your dog shot could be your punishment .... there is a lot to think about in this thred once your dog is shot then all you got is a dead dog Quote Link to post

Words are cheap..when your being shot at in the middle of the night ! One or two of you lot might actually learn summat... This lads been there done it and got the tee shirt and don,t need no daft tropheys to prove it.. he,s been doing what you lot spend most of the time talking about for over 30 years... brookie 1,193 Posted June 22, 2009 Report Share Posted June 22, 2009 i was shot in the lower back about twenty years ago while getting chased on the fish over glasbury way which is by hay on wye that was the worst chase ive ever had nd ive had a few in my time it came on about half twelve and we finally shook em of about six in the morning i lost my trainer in a bog running through it it was driving sleet all night and every where we run they seemed to find us again and the chase on again around the hills i remember thinking ive never been so cold in the end we managed to get away and get down into glasbury village and hide in a garden behind the bustop and ring a mate to pick us up and home to go. it hit the local news as well the keeper had got worried apparently and had rung old bill and said hed shot at a dog and got worried because he heard voices after he had fired the gun who ever he was he was a mad fecker alright ive never before or since been run by anyone so determined to catch some one as desperate as him and his team i used to be very fit in them days a good thing i was Quote Link to post

paul the poacher 2 Posted June 23, 2009 Report Share Posted June 23, 2009 (edited) up near me there is a field the size of a fen a few lads go on now and again .a few year back some lads went on early morn got caught giv the farmer a load of slavver then afternoon another gang same again then evening a poor lad nice lad too went on for a quick run with his mate by this time farmer had been drinking drove onto land shot a dog through back shot another and raced towards the lads lad picked up dog that was with him and farmer again started shooting at the dog while in his arms this lad was a decent lad too and would of gone off the land when told .the lad lost some very decent coursing dogs that day .he went to the police they gave the farmer a sturn warning saying next time he faced jail.i have been caught myself on there by the farmers son he said that was a fantastic course lad but if my dad sees you that dog wont run again i dint get clever as the lad was fine with me ,but 1 things for sure there aint a man on this planet has no fear and i would of drove fear into that c**t if he shot my dog .
