Hi lads

My boy has a crosman that i allow him to use whist with me...

i have no guns myself these days and have lost touch a little bit...(well a lot really)

The problem is when we are screwing in the little gas bottle into the rear of the gun

we are loosing nearly all the gas from it...it never used to do this obviously so there

must be a seal or something gone...at least that's what i think...

I was just asking you more knowledgeable lads if you knew presisely whats wrong

i can take the gun to a local shop...( guns international )but it could run to a few quid

i suspect and i was wondering if it was a simple repare could i do it..

Thanks in advance

they are located where the bottle screws in..........not saying it is that....but most likely!!!!

have a look on www.gunpares.co.uk......click on the model you have and it will give you an exploded diagram, which may help.

cheers

I can remember a friend of mine having a gun that did this, and the bottle leaked as he screwed it on the gun, but only if the gun was cocked i think. It's a little vague I know but it was ages ago. He had a BSA superten that did the same. He had to make sure the bolt was pulled back and the the bottle screwed on no worries. I'm not 100% this is your problem as I am no expert on guns but it may be a chance you are making the same mistake my friend did. hope you get it sorted and enjoy some shooting!! ;)

Sounds like you've got a King Ratcatcher there as opposed to the standard ratty?

I think I paid about 25p for the o ring seal in my King Ratcatcher. :hmm: The ring locates in a notch just under where the thread for the Airsource bottle is is.

When you get the new seal, it'll look way too big, and it'll be a bugger to put in. You'll need a fair bit of patience with it, I know I did!

That looks like the very kiddie...the gun is a AS2250..

So to get to the ring do i just unscrew the back piece that has 2 holes going through..?

Take the O ring to a plumbing centre, and see if you can get one of a similar size. You may find that you need a slightly larger one, the one I got from the gun shop looked a bit big compared with the one I took out, but it went in no problem. If they've got a few similar sizes, might be best to get a few while you're there. Might save you a return trip. ;)
