FOXHUNTER 5,021
I was out this morning at 4am and came across this fella wandering up a hedgerow. I had glassed him from about 500 yards away and planned my stalk to intercept him at the end of the hedgerow. I stalked down the far side of an adjoining hedge and quickly got to within 200 yards of him , by this time he had stopped and was content feeding. I crossed through the hedge and made my way slowly towards him hidden by the growing wheat until I was around 120 yards away. The edge of the field was ploughed which allowed me to utilise my bipod He went straight down .................... I was very surprised to see he was still in full winter pelage ........ FOXHUNTER 5,021
[Looks like he still has a lot of his winter coat in now that's got to be a bad sign for a buck of his size good job you shot him .Did he have any signs of infection on his lymph .nodes. His lymph nodes were fine and he was in good condition with a good body weight. I cannot think of a reason why he was still in winter pelage especially as he was quite young , no wear on his teeth and small coronets. Quote Link to post
