Rabbithunter 456
Well, give it a month or two and i'm sure plenty of us will be back out ferreting. But since im bored NOW, what ground do you all cover? I cover all types, from rough hedge rows and sandy bank's. Field sets, stoney sets, woodland, walls (not too keen on the walls), moorland, roughland, bushes, tree roots, mounds, My main bits of quality ferreting land lay between 25 and 40 miles from home. Both hold an impressive amount of rabbits. My first bit, is mainly field sets, stoney sets, and mound's with a little bit of woodland. The next is mainly moorland, with an odd sandy bank and stone wall. All my local (within 1 mile) are rough hedges, (within 10 mile) and sandy dyke's, sandy banks and woodland with a couple of open sets. If a wood isnt too thick, i love ferreting it (although there is one woodland i will never ferret again after discovering the sets are 15ft+ deep Quote Link to post
MikeTheDog 153
I concider myself very fortunate as I have a mixture of excellent land to hunt and ferret on. Chalk flint or sandstone rabbits are in abundance Quote Link to post

Guest Frank
This season, ill be mostly ferreting, middle of the feild warrens , with sandy soil. Im getting back into it after a 10 year break from it and have young new stock, so wont be doing huge warrens yet. I have my eyes on a few more places. Frank. Quote Link to post

IanB 0
All sorts mate, hedgerows, rough cover, woodland, dunes..the works Quote Link to post
COMPO 54
Mostly grass pasture land, quiet a few open warrens a few in hedges/fence lines and a little bit of woodland  I am lucky as 3 of 5 farms i ferret are equestrian places so they only have grass fields, one is a very small place with two grass fields (they rent these to someone who grazes sheep) and has a small (but rabbit infested) wood and the other is a 50acre sheep farm (again mostly open grass fields with a few hedges and a nice clear strip of woodland) . the 50 acre sheep farm has the most difficult hedges etc...but even this is a breeze compared to some of the rubbish piles and bramble encrusted hedges i used to ferret when i lived up north :11: Quote Link to post
maty j 6
hedgerows for me. no open areas at all! plenty of brambles and difficult areas to get too. arnt i lucky. :11: Quote Link to post
SeanTheHawker 0
bit of a mix, mainly hedgerow sets, but get the odd set on a bank, and a few sand dunes with ground sets. also a few in stone walls, which is always fun lol all on or near the coast Edited July 13, 2006 by SeanTheHawker Quote Link to post
