border lad 1,047 Posted June 10, 2009 Report Share Posted June 10, 2009 you mean there is alot that that know very little!! we were all born hunters, using dogs to hunt has been going on for centuries, when I was in Africa up in the North west, I saw a local tribesman, hunting with a hyena, the hyena was on a long chain, and he was hunting the Dyker buck (( it is one of the smallest bucks in Africa,)) I got one of of my boss boys, to talk with him and ask him about the Hyena, he found it as a cub badly mauled, he took it home and nursed it back to health, the hyena was about 3 years old at that time, he said when he was hunting he had to keep him on the chain, he was afraid he may run off and he would never see him again but at his home he could let him off the chain and he could call him back up again, so it is only the Lads on this site argueing about the best x how many they can kill in one night, Border LAD, Quote Link to post
Catcher 1 639 Posted June 10, 2009 Author Report Share Posted June 10, 2009 a good dog man doesnt need to give it the large one, if a person has good dogs this will show through more than any words can say, and anyone who knows him or sees his dogs work will make up there own minds, anyone who has been in this game for a long time will suss someone out straight away, good or bad, anyone who has been in this game a long time will also know a good dog, from an also ran................... when i was a kid, me and every single friend i knocked about with had dogs, and your dog was your status symbol, ie if your dog was good you were good, if your dog was shite, you were shite, cocker agree with most of that not sure about the status thing though! Hi mate i dident say anything about status. Iam not saying i know and all you dont.I am saying no one knows for sure so why are we allway shouting that we know about a certain breeds we have never owned or trained.atb. People dont have room for fifteen shite dogs catcher on rabbits anther rabbits 3 fox dogs only blar blar most people want,usually get if they dont jump at the first chance of a pup, choose wisely bring on well and you may get a dog doing it all so you need 1 kennels not a school of them!
