I just want to know what a high speed SD card is the one i currently use is 2 gb & is enough for what i use so what would a high speed one do for myy camera will it improve image quality or is it just that i can take more photos on the camera without it filling so quickly

You know when you use rapid shoot and it takes ages to down load the images to your camera, well they claim that the high speed cards do it faster, also supposed to down load faster to your computer. ;)

 

Oh i understand now , so basically it will be of benefit if you shoot lots on continious mode

Did you get a new camera Kay? The high speed SD cards "write" faster to the card so you can take a quicker succession of pics without waiting for the usual lag for the information to be written to the card - works particularly well for raw pics which are larger and so normally take a bit longer. I am not sure of the benefits of using one with a compact camera but it should work in the same way.

No i havent got a new camera yet i was reading some reviews for a point & shoot & it mentioned a high speed card i was wondering what the difference was

yer, if you have a fast cam with a basic card you wont benefit........

 

my new cam does 6.5 frames per sec, so not to get stuck in traffic, i need a fast card.

 

so how many gigs is your card then
