Guest wickidweasel
Frontline spray works If your having a lot of trouble i would treat the housing with somthing aswell Quote Link to post
Guest craftycarper
a dab of vaseline or surgical spirit on a ear bud then dab on the ticks body as it breaths through it's body, as long as it's not near the ferts eyes should do the job and they will fall off in a day or two. Are you feeding fresh rabbit etc, if so you could try freezing the rabbits to kill parasites etc then defrost & feed Quote Link to post
Guest chilli
Frontline the ferret an get some duramitex mix it up an spray the hutch all over with it get in all the nooks an craineys . Leave it to dry before you put it back in , if you useing hay or straw for bedding get rid because they are the worst source of ticks goinging . Get a shredder an use shredded paper an wood shavings or saw dust . Quote Link to post

Guest RobW71
I spray a couple of pumps of Frontline onto a surgical glove then wipe the Ferrets over. I wouldn't bother with any Jills that are nursing. Regards Rob Quote Link to post

Guest holey
I might get some stick for this.. .but all i do is give the ferrets a bath in weak jeyes fluid..it work's ok ..but it dont half honk abit. Rambo there is a lotion for humans when they have scabies i use it on my ferrets and dogs vet said to use it ,its called benzo benszate it really does work it burns ticks fleas and any other parasites try it just leave it on for 2 days then wash off with ferret shampoo or wotever you use to bath them make sure you wear plastic surgical gloves or marigolds coz it stinks all the best holey :thumbs-up: Quote Link to post
Guest Hedgehunter
A drop of Teatree oil on each tick kills em.We get a lot of ticks in the Autumn as the first area we ferret is sheep country but this year we're going to use a Teatree shampoo/conditioner on em before as it works on the kids to stop headlice so in moderation may work and we got a bottle of the stuff. We have used Bob Martin spot on for dogs before & it has worked but have had ferrets licking it off each other & gagging,no lasting damage though.
