Strong Stuff 2,171
Morning all, have recently made some couples that are easy to take on and off, no matter how loose I make the retaining loop on my normal type, these are still much easier to get on and off the dogs. Not being a terrier man myself, am looking for any suggestions to improve on them. As you can see, getting the dogs off is as easy as releasing the trigger snap. The only downside I can see is that you'll have 3 parts to keep hold of, as long as you put them safely in a pocket then you should be ok. I would of course replace any lost parts at a reduced price if you did lose them. As this isn't a for sale thread, please see the terrier couples thread in the misc section of the for sale part of the site. Quote Link to post

erik 71
i don't like to use couples but i like the collars i will put that in me things to get list Quote Link to post
smelly dog 16
I'v used this type of collar for a few years. You have got to watch that you do not drop the collar when you take dog off, but the advantage of putting them back quick and easy when your hands are cold and muddy. SS you made a good job of them, I will be ordering a few. Quote Link to post

Guest GoneToGround1
look great to me, are they 1 inch thick SS? wish i had 1 inch thick ones so the terriers wouldnt pull so much, got trebbles off you bought the brass elsehwere but the collars off you, would i buy any other collar? if you made there in trebbles i think id invest...but 2 doubles are no good to me as i have 3 terriers, cheers Quote Link to post
Guest busterdog
They look great to me SS, they are spot on mate. The only down side i have had with these collars is if you go out with some one that's not familiar with them they tend to undo the collars at the buckle instead of the clips. The only thing i would say is to put plenty of holes in for all the different size dogs, but that's teaching me granny i think's. Ive got three sets of these collars in leather and they are the dogs, and i will be changing them for the webbing gradually as they fail, good luck with the sales mate. If I remember correctly you said if it was your lad instead of me undo'ing them at the buckle, a clip around the ear would have been issued . I had some made up the following week mate, thats about 7 year ago. Quote Link to post
the_stig 6,614
ss cant see a way round it you`ve made enough to figure it out i would`nt mind some that do a single terrier or could eaisly be doubled or tripled up .. Quote Link to post

alimac 882
There fine, as for the chances of loosing any of the 3 parts individually, well there very unlikley, theres no need to seperate them completely, to release the dog you only need to un clip one side of the collar, and too loose the 3 bits while attatched topgether well you would have to be plain thick Quote Link to post

jenksi87 3
my terrier stands 13&1/2" tts. i am due to pick up a new pup in about 4week. (jrt) will these collars be suitable for use with the obvious size difference or would i have to wait a few month and walk on seperate leads? i would prefer to use a couple straight away if possible. do you make the collars for the smaller dogs? the mother to the new pup barely stands 9" tts and the sire is not 1/2" bigger so she should be around that size when fully grown. any info/advice will be very appreciated as i am definately interested after reading all the feedback from them. thanks ATB JENKS Quote Link to post
Hunting-top-shots 2
Hi Strong Stuff Been on your site and had a look and the new collers look great but if you are asking about an improvment why dont you solder one of the D rings to the trigger snap that would stop you loosing the coller when using the snap insted of the buckel. if you spoke to a local plumber I am sure that he would solder one for you it would have to be hard solder. if you used soft solder it tends to crack when cold, seeing that most of the work done is in winter you might have a few sent back. otherwise you are more than welcom to send me one and I will have a look to see if I can help with a test version. cheers HTS Quote Link to post
